Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
1. Introduction
TableMatch (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website and services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide. If you choose to sign in, we receive basic account information (such as your name and email address) from your identity provider. This information is used solely to personalise your experience and is not stored in a persistent database.
Location and search data. When you enter a location to search for restaurants, that query is transmitted to third-party mapping and places services to retrieve nearby results. We do not log or retain your individual search queries.
Usage data. We collect anonymous, aggregate information about how the Service is used — such as page views, feature interactions, and general geographic region. This data cannot be used to identify you individually and is used only to understand and improve the Service.
Technical data. Like most web services, our infrastructure providers may automatically receive standard technical information when you access the Service, including your IP address, browser type, device type, and timestamps. This data is processed by our infrastructure providers in accordance with their own privacy policies and is not used by us to track individuals.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Personalise your experience (e.g., displaying your name)
- Understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the Service
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use a small number of cookies strictly necessary for the Service to function, including a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may affect the functionality of the Service.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We engage third-party companies to help operate the Service (such as hosting, infrastructure, and data services). These providers access information only as necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect it.
- Third-party APIs. To retrieve restaurant information, your search location is transmitted to third-party data providers. These transmissions are governed by the providers’ own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If TableMatch is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Session data is cleared when you sign out or your session expires. Aggregate, anonymised usage data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be used to identify individuals.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information we handle against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information. If you believe we may have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.
9. International Users
The Service is operated from and hosted in jurisdictions that may differ from your own. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer, processing, and storage of your information in these jurisdictions, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we collect minimal personal data and do not maintain persistent user profiles, many of these rights are satisfied by design. You may sign out at any time to remove your session data. For any privacy-related requests, please refer to the contact section of this page.
11. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
13. Contact
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you may reach us through the contact information provided on the Service.
